Working for an ambitious Ecodesign Policy!
Among all stakeholders involved in discussing the Ecodesign Policy at EU level (industry, consumer associations, governments, etc.), Environmental NGOs are constantly reminding decision-makers of the crucial necessity to go for ambitious measures. We all know that our consumption patterns are unsustainable, and that major changes have to occur. It is not just about slightly improving the performance of products, it is about achieving huge behavorial change and favouring new business models.
To justify our claims, we make efforts to gather as much technical expertise as possible to convince other stakeholders that a high level of ambition often means reduced environmental and health impacts, improved energy security, economic wellfare through energy savings and also opportunities for progressive companies.
However, providing accurate alternative expertise and well-documented position papers requires time and effort, and we are most grateful to those who can help us throughout this political process. Any NGO or expert willing to take part in this essential effort to green our products is welcome to take part in our activities (through providing expertise, liaising with allies, communicating our work, talking to media, influencing their governments, etc).
